It may have been the last date of Olly Murs’ 2017 arena tour, but Olly Murs proved that he still has The X Factor as he performed to a packed audience at Belfast’s SSE Arena.
Local radio DJ Pete Snodden from Cool FM got the crowd ready for Olly Murs. His set lasted 45 minutes, and once his set was finished, Belfast was truly ready for Olly Murs.
When the lights went out, a 30-second countdown appeared on the big screens and the whole arena joined in the countdown. Once the countdown was finished, Olly appeared on stage. He started his set with one of his recent singles “You Don’t Know Love”.
He then went on to perform “Wrapped Up”, one of his many well-known hits. Following this, Olly performed some tracks off his most recent album 24 Hrs.
After performing a few of his newer tracks, Olly spoke about how he wrote the next song he performed – “I Need You Now” – at a time that he was single. He also spoke about how he was currently single and asked the crowd if he was going to find Mrs Murs in Belfast, as he had never had a girlfriend from Belfast.
Olly had said that the last show of the tour was notoriously mad, and crazy things could happen, and they did! A few members of his band, when Olly introduced them, pulled their trousers down to reveal Olly Murs pants, and Olly found this hilarious! A crew member dressed as a monkey also appeared on stage, hitting Olly with an inflatable banana, which was extremely funny!
Olly then went on to perform another one of his extremely popular tracks, “Heart Skips A Beat”, which had everyone singing and dancing along.
A few more songs off his recent album 24 Hrs were performed and he then sang “Dear Darlin’.’
Olly also had a live band, who were absolutely brilliant! Throughout the show, Olly made sure that he interacted with the crowd a lot, ensuring that everyone had one of the best nights of their life!
He then performed a huge medley of songs, saying that there was a part of the show where everyone goes absolutely crazy! Olly made sure that every single person in the arena was on their feet, dancing along. There were songs performed from several decades, right up to current hits: “That’s The Way I Like It”/”Never Too Much”/”She’s Got That Vibe”/”Jump Around”/”Can’t Touch This”/”Can’t Stop The Feeling”.
Everyone was still on their feet when he performed “Troublemaker” and “Dance With Me Tonight”.
For the encore, Olly performed “Kiss Me” and “Years and Years”. He repeatedly thanked his fans for all their support over the years, and also thanked everyone who had been involved with the tour.
His vocals, dance moves and ability to put on an incredible show are proof that Olly Murs hasn’t lost it – he will always be a true performer.
